Spa Night

It was my turn to plan date night again, but Jeff could see how exhausted I was from getting a lot of work done on Saturday & still recovering from the flu so he decided that we were having an Anderson Spa date night!

It was perfect, he lit candles & even made a bath for me, then gave me a massage, had plans of painting my toes too but we both were ready to go to sleep after the massage, so he is giving me a rain check on the pedicure!

He also took out some massage lotion that we got from when we got our first (and only) couples massage from the "Easter Bunny" last year!

It was a fantastic date & would highly reccomend- Thanks babe!!

Dinner in the Kitchen

For our date this week I didn't have to be too creative!

My mother in law won a dinner in the kitchen with the chef at a local restaurant. It was really nice how the chef had the tables set up in the kitchen for us & then showed us how to cook everything he made us!

It was out of this world! We had an amazing salad to start, then he cooked thai shrimp, teryaki chicken & jambalaya shrimp for us, with mashed potatoes. It was so good. Then crem brulee & sugar cookies for dessert!

Of course with a bottle of wine for me & whiskey for Jeff!!

Nascar Date

Well I finally got to surprise Jeff myself! Even though I ended up telling him about the date Saturday morning (for Sat night).... he kind of guessed it. He kept "mentioning" how Nascar was on at 8pm but he was still excited for whatever our date was going to be. So I ended up telling him that my plan was for the Nascar date I had seen someone else on here post!

I did leave a few surprises for him still, but the way it went was that we had a cooler in between us (in the living room) with some PBR & Busch Light........Grilled Italian sausage with sauteed onions & peppers. Then soft pretzels with dipping cheese, and my other idea was to make those chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.

I had failed to make or buy the cookies though, so Jeff suggested himself that we make them together & put the race on hold! I could NOT believe that since we have never made cookies or anything like that together! But I was very pleased!! It was so much fun doing that together, we definately have more baking dates in our future.

We also had so much fun actually sitting down to watch the race together (eg. me not doing Anything else) and just talking "nascar" in nascar voices!! It was just like it was before kids-i ask Jeff tons of questions about Nascar & we just sit & watch it together! Of course we didn't make it all the way through the race & called it a night around 11pm (way later than we would have stayed up otherwise).... and got to watch the rest in the morning- thank you dvr!!

Oh yeah! I did make us wear our Nascar hats too! It was one of the best dates yet!!
Jeff was SOO excited all day for this date I have not seen him this happy in a while! He would definately Love this date again! I do have a few other surprises up my sleeve for him this month though!

Front Porch Date

You never know what the weather is going to be like in Michigan, so I decided to make a front porch date, even if it was raining! We have these white rocking chairs that we love but dont enjoy as much anymore since our 1yr old wont stay still.

It was warm but sprinkling rain here & there. We had a fabulous date anyway! It was nice just hanging out & talking & enjoying some Faygo root beer & Rock N Rye.

Alice & DQ

With me being sick, we were not able to go up north to the cottage like we hoped (where jeff was planning to do the bonfire we didnt get last week).....

So we decided a movie & blizzards were just what the Dr. ordered with a sore throat!

Blizzards were buy 1 get one for .25 cents!

And got the movie "Alice" for free from redbox with a coupon code.....

What a great date night, even though the movie was kind of a bust. I didnt make it through without falling asleep. I think I would have loved watching the old school Alice in Wonderland more!
Jeff & I get really excited for our date nights & are always looking forward to the next one. It has really been great to get that time with him when normally we just would have been doing housework etc.

Thanks so much SMM!!

MJ Date Night

Well it was Jeff's turn again.

His original plan was for a bonfire since we had fantastic 80 degree weather this week up here in Michigan!

The plan fell through when it was heading down to 30ish degree weather on Friday evening & rain.

So plan b-

I think we had shyed away from movies for our dates in the past because one of us (or both) of us ALWAYS fall asleep! And I am always trying to think of something that will spark a little more conversation.
However, this was the perfect movie for date night. It sparked a lot of good convo as to our thoughts on the Jackson family & MJ along with the death etc.
It was more of a documentary on the concert in London that was supposed to go on, so it wasn't like we missed out on much while talking our way through it.
I loved it & I know Jeff really like it too so it was a good date!

In Between The Wedding Date

Our friend Josh got married on Saturday & we decided that Jeff would plan our date for the 2-3 hours in between the ceremony & reception.
It was nice because the wedding was about 2.5 hours from where we live. It was in the thumb of Michigan & both of us have never been there before. So it was a perfect opportunity to see the area & what it had to offer.

Jeff took us to some awesome beaches & look-outs around Port Austin & Caseville that some friends had reccomended & then took us to our friend Josh's greenhouse that we had never seen before. It was perfect!
It was a beautiful sunny day & it got us so excited for a great Michigan summer this year. It really felt a lot like northern Michigan where we go up to my parents cottage most weekends from Memorial Day- Labor Day.
Jeff took us to a fantastic pier that we walked to the end of & then a state park & then we got to drive around & look at all the gorgeous homes on Lake Huron.
